May is a month for celebrating
Mother’s Day across the world. A
month to honour a mother’s devotion,
sacrifice and unconditional love for
her children. On every Mother’s Day I
honour my daughter for coming into
my life and teaching me the real
meaning of being a mother.
This is a thank you poem for my
daughter:
People know that I gave birth to you,
but the truth is you gave birth to me, a
"MOTHER"
You came with no instructions!
But you were ready to learn along
side me.
You were growing, so was I
You were watching me and I was
watching you,
I was teaching you but in reality, you
were teaching me to be a mother.
You taught me what unconditional
love really meant,
You taught me what it meant to stay
up all night but not be tired in the
morning,
You taught me how a mother could
skip a meal while rocking the baby
and not feel hungry,
You taught me that day could become
night and night could turn into day,
When the Sun came up, when the Sun
went down?
You have brought so much meaning
to my life that I will be indebted to you
for many lifetimes...
You are my little miracle, a ray of
hope, the twinkle in my eyes.
On the day of my birth, a child was
born, but I was born with your birth.
Thank you for being in my life.
Love,
Mommy
